Waukesha County Public Health encourages businesses/employers to follow new national COVID-19 quarantine and isolation guidance that eases quarantine and isolation rules.

According to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS), “this new guidance applies to the general population in the community, including workplaces and K-12 schools.”

Interim national guidance is available for healthcare institutions, with guidance coming soon for correctional facilities and homeless shelters.

Businesses and employers should document any workplace exposure. A release of isolation letter from Waukesha County Public Health is no longer required for an employee to return to work.

Waukesha County Public Health continues to monitor COVID-19 outbreaks in businesses, cases in the community, and provides contact tracing through our contact tracing team and our Patient Education Genius (PEG) software.

Businesses/employers looking for guidance related to the pandemic can call the Waukesha County Public Health COVID Hotline at 262-896-8430.

    Businesses/employers are encouraged to:

    1. Promote COVID-19 vaccination for employees. Vaccination is the best strategy to stop the spread of COVID-19 and prevent hospitalizations and death. Read vaccination information from Waukesha County Public Health
    2. Promote COVID-19 booster doses. Learn more about boosters and additional doses from the WI Department of Health Services.
    3. Follow national mitigation strategies.
    4. Let sick employees stay home. Any employee with COVID-19 symptoms should leave work and get tested. See testing resources in Waukesha County.
