- Add the server as a proxy in Veeam.
- Click on backup Infrastructure
- Right-click on Backup Proxies and click Add Proxy
- Select VMware backup proxy
- Select add new Microsoft Windows
- Enter IP address of proxy server then Next
- Select
- Review, then click Apply
- When process is complete, click Next
- Click Finish
- In transport mode, click Choose, then Direct storage access, then Next, Next, Apply
- When process is complete, click Next, then Finish
- Configure NIC on server with the iSCSI IP.
- Configure the discovery addresses of the storage in iSCSI software on the server.
- Click on windows icon
- Select Windows Administrative tools
- Double-click iSCSI Initiator
- Click the discovery tab
- Click on the discovery portal button
- Enter the IP address of the storage device
- Finish
- In Veeam under storage Infrastructure, configure which proxies can access the storage.
- Select Pure Storage.
- Select the correct storage array, then right-click, and select edit, then Next.
- Then next again
- For Backup proxies to use, click Choose, then select the proxy server you just added.
- Apply, then Finish
- Edit the backup jobs to use the new proxy servers
- use only the first two proxies as the third proxy is reserved for replication jobs
- 10.170.1.47 & 10.170.1.48 - Edit the replication jobs to use the new proxy servers
- there is a source and destination proxy for each replication job
