You can use the following methods to send an encrypted email.
Using The Encrypt Button
1. Choose New Email to start a new message.
2. Enter a name or email address in the To, Cc, or Bcc field.
3. In Subject, type the subject of the email message.
4. Click on the Options tab, then on the Encrypt button.
When encrypting an email message, there are two options for encryption:
Encrypt-Only allows you to send encrypted messages to any recipient, whether they are inside the organization or not. If the recipient is a Microsoft 365 customer and using Outlook, Outlook on the Web, or Outlook for mobile, they will be able to open the encrypted e-mail without any additional steps. If the recipient is not a Microsoft 365 customer, they will receive an e-mail with a link to the message, which is securely stored on Microsoft 365 servers. The recipient would then need to sign-in with their Microsoft or Google credentials, or choose to receive one-time access code to access the message. For more information on how to open a protected message, refer to this article from Microsoft: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/How-do-I-open-a-protected-message-1157a286-8ecc-4b1e-ac43-2a608fbf3098?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US.
Do Not Forward allows to you send an encrypted message, and also restricts the content and email from being forwarded, printed or copied. Be aware that with this option, the recipient could still take a screenshot or picture of the message using a camera.
5. Click Send to send the email message.
